Keep locations private
Phone photos may reveal the exact coordinates of a home, school, workplace, or travel stop.
Private by design
Inspect and remove hidden file data without sending a single byte to a server.
Files never leave your device — processed 100% in your browser. Free, no sign-up.
They stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
A metadata remover is a privacy tool that finds descriptive information embedded inside a file and creates a clean copy without that information. A photo can contain the camera model, exact capture time, editing software, copyright text, and even GPS coordinates. Documents and videos can also carry author names, creation dates, device details, and location strings that are invisible during normal viewing.
This metadata remover works locally in your browser. When you choose files, the browser reads their binary structure on your device, displays the fields it recognizes, and rewrites supported formats without the removable metadata blocks. Nothing is transmitted to us, there is no account, and the visible image or document content stays available for download. The result is useful before posting publicly, emailing a client, or sharing files with someone who does not need the hidden history.
The cleaner targets privacy-sensitive descriptive blocks while preserving the visible file whenever the format allows lossless rewriting.

Remove author, software, and revision clues before delivering files to a customer or publisher.
Hidden comments, thumbnails, dates, and device identifiers can expose more context than the visible file.
A clean copy reduces irrelevant metadata when a platform or reviewer only needs the actual content.
Drag up to 20 supported files into the private browser workspace, or use the file picker.
See metadata grouped into camera, GPS, time, software, copyright, and raw technical fields.
Create cleaned files locally. Multiple results are bundled into a ZIP without leaving your device.
Yes. You can process up to 20 files at a time, with a 50 MB limit per file, without paying or creating an account. There is no daily quota. The limits protect browser memory and keep processing reliable on phones and older computers.
No. File bytes are read by JavaScript running in your browser and are never sent to our server. The site has no upload endpoint. After the page loads, supported processing continues offline, and the completion message reports that zero bytes were uploaded.
Lossless metadata removal is available for JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. PDF information fields are cleaned locally. TIFF and HEIC metadata can be inspected when the browser decoder and parser support the file; unsupported removal is reported clearly instead of pretending it succeeded.
Yes for common iPhone JPEG files, including GPS, date, camera, and software fields. HEIC inspection is best-effort because browser support varies. If a HEIC file cannot be rewritten safely, the tool explains the limitation and does not return a falsely labeled clean file.
For JPEG, PNG, and WebP, the tool removes metadata containers without decoding and recompressing image pixels, so visible quality does not change. PDF metadata updates may restructure the document but do not intentionally alter page artwork. Any format requiring re-encoding is rejected.
Yes. Select between 1 and 20 files. Each file is inspected independently, and successful cleaned copies are packaged into one ZIP when more than one file is processed. Errors remain attached to the affected file so a single problem does not hide other results.
